From a story perspective, its a great conclusion to the rising hostility in the world throughout all the Far Cry games and how the aggression and death throughout the world finally pushed it over the edge. Plus, the ending song is from Dr. Stranglelove (which has the same ending technically so it is a fun little homage).
Define good ending. As in there is still hope. There always a chance for a comeback in the walk away ending. The resist ending is nothing but simple nihilism. I would call that a feel good ending. Far Cry games haven't had feel good endings since the first. But hey, whichever ending you like is the good ending for you.
The "bad" ending in Far Cry 5 occurs when players choose not to arrest Joseph Seed, but instead walk away and leave him to his own devices. Doing so will prompt Seed to forgive the player, touching his head to theirs in a gesture of good will, and allowing the hero and all allies to simply leave.
Far Cry 3 had a magical tattoo and a jungle that practically secreted drugs 4 had a Yeti, magical drug trips, and Shangri-La New Dawn's apples are easily explained as a mix of Bliss and radiation creating some freaky magical fruit. It would honestly be tame compared to some Far Cry stuff.
